The historic Boise Trail (#101) is a north-south route first used by Nez Perce Indians and later by explorers and prospectors. The southern portion of this trail gives access to Lower Cannon Lake, Dog Lake, Horse Heaven Lake and Haas Lake. Views along this area include West Fork of Rapid River, Cannonball Mountain, Jackley Mountain and Black Imp. It also parallels portions of the original "Old Boise Indian Trail.' The most spectacular view is from Horse Heaven.
