The Cannon Valley Trail is a 19.7 mile long trail that runs through diverse and spectacular scenery on a former Chicago Great Western Railroad line connecting the cities of Cannon Falls, Welch and Red Wing in beautiful southeastern Minnesota

Cannon Falls From the Twin Cities-- Take 52 South to the Cannon Falls exit (Hwy. 19). Take a left on Hwy. 19 (head east) and go 1 mile. The main trail head is on the left across from Econo Foods. The trail begins with a city trail, and leads into the Cannon Valley Trail.
Welch From the Twin Cities-- Take Hwy. 61 through Cottage Grove and take 316 out of Hastings. At 61 again, turn left and after a few miles take a right on County Road 7. Signs are posted. Follow Co. 7 straight into Welch. Welch Station Access is located about a quarter mile south past the village of Welch.
Red Wing From the Twin Cities-- Take Hwy. 61 through Cottage Grove and take 316 out of Hastings. At 61, turn left and head straight into Red Wing. Lower A.P. Anderson Access-- Take the first right after the recycling center. There are signs posted on the highway to direct. Old West Main Access-- After the first stoplights in Red Wing take a left onto Old West Main by the Chevrolet Dealership.
