Whats this forum all about? Biketrip.com is part of www.fitnessrace.com which is really comprised of a number of sites to help faciliate "The Million Mile Challenge". Put quite simply, we are challenging folks nation-wide to collectively log 1 million miles during the month of May in a walking, running or biking venue. There are even other options, and you can click here to read more about it.
Since this challenge is really geared towards organizations participating in this national event, we wanted a forum to allow you to share your experiences and ask questions here. We'll ofcourse keep monitoring this forum to help you with your questions. Whether you are part of an organization or not, your distance tracking counts!
Again, check out www.fitnessrace.com to find more information about "The Million Mile Challenge" and register yourself and your organization

Our group will not have access to a computer during any of our trip so logging on and contributing to the Million Mile Challenge will be impossible. How should we go about doing this? Can we just log the miles on after we get to Eugene or would that be too late by then?

You can log your miles afterwards, that will be fine I also hope you will do a "travelogue" of your adventures, and share pictures if you can

With all the talk about Lance and the upcoming Tour de France, I decided to complete the same mileage....but give myself a month instead of 3 weeks. I'm doing my Tour during May to help out the 1,000,000 mile challenge. The mileage totals 2088 or 67.35 miles/day for 31 days. Anybody want to Tour with me??? Anita

I wish I had the free time to do it also. That would be a lot of fun. I have to work my butt off for the next few months to get enough money to move though. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks. I just bike in between everything that I do. Before getting the kids off to school, I bike 12 miles. Before I go to bed, I bike 12 miles. Then all I have to do is fill in the rest of the mileage sometime during the day. My husband said that I should Tour de House, or Tour de Dinner. Everytime he turns around, I'm biking. When I couldn't sleep, before, I used to get up and read. Now I get up and climb on my bike and read. I was up at 4:30 a.m. biking my brains off. I'm lucky that I have both inside and outside bikes. Good luck with all you're trying to accomplish. Anita

We make a big deal out of May because its "National Fitness & Sports month" and many companies and schools do some special fitness challenges, and ofcourse the Presidents Challenge.
That said, Million Mile Challenge is all year round, and we even have a theme for each month.
I think the "Summer Fun" theme for July was designed to encourage folks to turn their fun summer activities to miles logged.

"Adventure Vacation Month" in August is meant to focus on taking fun adventure vacations, and we'll highlight companies that offer some fun trips, like biking the Canadian Rockies, one of my favorite places to bike
All that said we'll expect to see you "championing" those months here
